5 Carry-on Essentials For International Travel

I only travel with carry-on bags. I find it the easiest and most convenient way to travel around the globe. Whether I’m flying to Asia or South America the carry-on items are pretty much the same. Here is a short list of items I find useful on my travels.

1. International Converter

A converter will 100% be in use when traveling to certain parts of the world. You can go months without one in Thailand.. however, as soon as you land in Indonesia you will run into problems without one.

I use a international Converter called LOOP. It allows you to charge your devices in over 150 countries. You can find them HERE.

2. Quick Dry Travel Towel

There are so many times when a travel towel comes in handy. Not all the time, you will have a towel available. Also, normal towel take forever to dry. Most travel towels are designed to dry quickly. This way you won’t have a smelly moldy towel in your bag. You can search Amazon for many different ones.

3. Small Surge Strip

Often enough, you will find there are not enough plugs. Whether you are in the airport, hostel, hotel, or coffee shop there always comes a time where you can’t find a plug. Plus, this is a great way to meet new people while you travel. There are plenty of choices of surge protectors. Keep in mind the weight and size before you purchase one.

4. A Black Inkpen

This one might sound stupid. However, I cannot tell you the amount of times I’ve needed a black ink pen to fill out custom/visa forms on a plane or in the airport. If you don’t have one, most likely you will be in the group of people scrambling to find a pen at the visa counters. Point is.. bring a pen.

5. A Light Sweater Or Hoodie

Even if you are heading somewhere hot or tropical, you still will find a hoodie useful. Planes, buses, and airports still get cold. I suggest bringing a light hoodie that doesn’t take up too much room.
